QLPS Wild Workout

Opportunity image

Wild Workout volunteers will gain a greater relationship with people and places around the Quantock Hills. Whether working independently, or with small groups or at large events, the volunteering role offers a chance to develop your experiences with cultural and practical activities happening around the hills.

The role offers the advantage of working alongside like-minded individuals, for a common purpose - to enhance the offer of the QLPS and the Quantock Hills, whist doing good for the countryside and its local communities. In addition, the work being delivered may support, or improve, your physical and mental wellbeing.

Whether helping to deliver specific project work, the role will offer a sense of purpose, in local neighbourhoods and on the Quantock Hills.

Volunteers will get the chance to keep body and mind healthy by assisting with various activities, duties, walks and events. Activities will often be delivered within local communities and assist work being delivered by the QLPS in these areas. Work will benefit the support and wellbeing of a diverse range of communities across the Quantock Hills. Tasks will often involve taking an active route to the place of volunteering – such as walking to fulfil duties – or involve being active through the volunteering task itself.

Please note that this role requires both an employer and character reference. If this is a difficulty for you, please contact the Volunteer Team on 01823 359200 or volunteer@somerset.gov.uk
