Roaming Ranger (Wilstock and Stockmoor Country Park)
Wilstock and Stockmoor Country Park is a beautiful 42 hectare site comprising of meadows, ponds, rhynes and young woodland copses. It's a fantastic place to spot wildlife, particularly birds and insects.
We want volunteers to help with visitor management, which includes includes carrying out visitor counts, providing information about where to go, what to do and what to see on site, encouraging responsible behaviour and reporting visitor conflicts. Roaming Rangers act as the eyes and ears of the ranger team, reporting issues such as fallen trees etc, as and when they see them.
You'll learn about the wildlife and management of the site and be able to choose your own hours. Experience is useful but not necessary.
You will also need to be able to work on uneven terrain in various weather conditions throughout the year.
All training is provided.
