Community Inclusion and Activity volunteer (Opportunities across Somerset)
Volunteering in this role provides you with the opportunity to gain experience working with children and young people with disabilities or enhance career development within education, social care, health and childcare. You will also gain a greater understanding of the issues and barriers that children and young people with disabilities and their families may face.
You will be linked with a member of the Community Inclusion Activity Team who will act as your mentor to provide support and guidance throughout your time of volunteering with the team. They will discuss with you the needs of the children and young people – how they communicate, behaviours support, safety awareness etc. They will link with you as often as you both feel necessary.
Group Volunteers Volunteer alongside the Community Inclusion Activity Team to help support regular groups, clubs and school holiday activities. You will help with setting up and clearing away as well as supporting children and young people and their families to feel welcome and join in with activities of the group.
